Peschici (90 m, 4335 inhab.), a picturesque Mediaeval village set on a rocky headland that plunges steeply into the sea to the north-east. Founded by the commander of the Slavonians, it was the mainland base of the abbey on the Tremiti islands. There is a flourishing lace industry here. A jetty beneath the Peschici headland allows small boats to berth.
