Is the ancient Appian gate, rebuilt in the fifth century under the emperor Honorius and restaured in the sixth century according to the demand of Belisario.
It is a single arched passageway flanked by towers with squared marble bases in which are inserted a semi-cylindrical trunks topped by battleworks.
