Porta San Sebastian (Via di Porta San Sebastiano)
Is the ancient Appian gate, rebuilt in the fifth century under the emperor Honorius and restaured in the sixth century according to the demand of Belisario.
It is a single arched passageway flanked by towers with squared marble bases in which are inserted a semi-cylindrical trunks topped by battleworks. |
