Manfredonia (5 m, 53 030 inhab.) a town situated at the back of the large gulf of the same name.
The stretch of coast
that separates it from Mattinata is popular with holiday-makers: there is a succession
of fashionable beaches, beach-side hotels and apartments, camping sites and holiday villages. The coastline is harsh and rocky, full of bays, caves and oddly-shaped rocks, with secluded beaches and fine, golden sand, a true paradise for snorkellers and lovers of the sea.
