Air: Bari Airport km. 75 far, or Brindisi airport Km.40 far.
Train: Cisternino Station.
Car: A14 Motorway, Bari Nord exit, then SS 16 Km. Bari/Brindisi, Torre Canne exit 10 Km. far.
Cisternino
Placed on a height this has an oriental air thanks to its whitewashed terraced houses with outside staircases and balconies.
Many of the shops signs in the streets bear inscriptions of a Medieval flavour.
The Romanesque mother church of San Nicola and two ancient towers are of note.
In the surronding area there is a thick pine forest of great naturalistic importance which extends along the side of the hill towards the sea. |
